Description

If you want to see how I make this and other carvings, here's my Youtube channel.

This TARDIS is one of my newest projects of late.  I used paper clay fired to stoneware temperatures and mixed black, blue and white underglaze.  I think I've just about nailed the blue colour and I'm quite happy with this piece.  Oh, and the holes are for threading some kind of hanging material, turning it into a dangly thing, though probably best not to put it on a door.  One does not simply hang the TARDIS on a door. :)

Time And Relative Dimension In Space - does anything more need to be said?   Where is the Doctor without his TARDIS, or the TARDIS without her Doctor?   It is an image that is fundamentally alien and yet utterly human, wholly British.   I can do no better than to quote Steven Moffat on the subject of the Doctor and TARDIS:

“When they made this particular hero, they didn’t give him a gun, they gave him a screwdriver to fix things. They didn’t give him a tank or a warship or an x-wing fighter, they gave him a call box from which you can call for help. And they didn’t give him a superpower or pointy ears or a heat ray, they gave him an extra heart. They gave him two hearts.  And that’s an extraordinary thing; there will never come a time when we don’t need a hero like the Doctor.”
