S.H.I.E.L.D, not to be confused with A.R.M.O.R¹, S.W.O.R.D² or H.A.M.M.E.R³, which genuinely exist⁴, is living proof that people will go to any lengths to have a cool acronym, even if you can’t quite decide on what it stands for⁵.
Even their logo has changed, from the organic quasi-realistic bird in flight to an angular metallic-appearing semblance of its former birdness – which oddly mirrors Warren Worthington the Third’s evolution from the winged Angel to the… also winged, but this time in metal and with a bad attitude, Archangel. Do I smell a conspiracy theory brewing?⁶

Care instructions: Pieces that glow in the dark should be wiped carefully if in need of a clean, avoiding soaps or detergents. Pieces with metallic wax can be scrubbed a little more enthusiastically, but steer clear of harsh chemicals, acids or lasers. All other pieces can withstand anything short of blunt force trauma, defenestration or act of god/s. It is not recommended to use these pieces as: Frisbees, door stoppers, teething rings, scaffolding, body armour, stress balls or anything involving lacrosse.
